What works & limitations
- No functional use case exists for Nanit Pro on a 5GHz-only network — setup fails at the Wi-Fi credentials step after a 60-second connection timeout; the Nanit app displays "Camera connection failed — ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz network" error message
- Nanit Pro cannot see or connect to 5GHz SSIDs — the camera's Wi-Fi radio (2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n) has no 5GHz capability; this is a hardware limitation of the camera chipset, not a software restriction
- Nanit app setup wizard times out after 60 seconds waiting for the camera to confirm Wi-Fi association — the app displays the error "Unable to connect camera to network" and suggests checking the network name and password
- No workaround: the 2.4GHz limitation is in the Nanit Pro camera hardware; it cannot be resolved via firmware update, app update, or any configuration change on the camera side
- Wi-Fi 6E routers that have administratively disabled the 2.4GHz radio also fail with the same error — 5GHz-only is the common state for maximizing Wi-Fi 6E performance, but it is incompatible with virtually all IoT and baby monitor devices
