What works & limitations

  • EU App Store via Epic Games Store (direct native install for EU Apple ID holders since March 2024) — A16 Bionic runs Fortnite at Epic mobile graphics with stable 60fps; the most capable native iOS path currently available
  • Xbox Cloud Gaming (streaming, Game Pass Ultimate required) — A16 Bionic's Neural Engine handles H.264/H.265 stream decoding with minimal battery drain; sustained streaming at 1080p/60fps for 60+ minute sessions
  • GeForce NOW Tier 2 streaming at up to 1080p/60fps — lower input latency than xCloud on excellent home Wi-Fi connections
  • US App Store download unavailable — the Epic vs Apple case ruling does not require App Store restoration in the US App Store as of 2025
  • A16 Bionic (TSMC 4nm, 2× Everest + 4× Sawtooth cores, 5-core Apple GPU) represents a generational leap from the A13 Bionic in iPhone 11 — if the US App Store situation resolves, iPhone 15 users would have access to Epic mobile settings (the highest mobile tier) at sustained 60fps, a significant upgrade from older iPhones
